The working principle of USB cameras
2020-02-24
Regarding the question of how USB cameras work, we have to start from scratch, and that starts with the classification of cameras. It can be divided into two categories: cameras and analog cameras. The analog type converts the analog video signal generated by the video capture device into a digital signal and stores it in a computer. The video signal captured by the analog type must be converted to digital mode by a specific video capture card and compressed before it can be converted to a computer. The analog type captures the image directly and then transmits it to the computer via a string, port, or USB port. At present, the computer market is dominated by digital cameras, and the cameras are dominated by USB digital cameras that use new data transmission interfaces. There is also a product that can use a video capture card, but it is not yet mainstream.
Due to the rapid popularization of personal computers and the high overall cost of analog types, the transmission speed of the USB terminal port is much higher than that of the serial port and the parallel port, so the hot spot in the market is mainly with a USB camera. The following mainly refers to the USB port camera.

It works on the principle of USB camera: the camera works approximately as follows: through the lens (lens) generates an optical image of the scene projected onto the surface of the image sensor, and then converts it into an electrical signal, after A / d (analog-digital) converter converts it into a digital image signal signal that is then sent to the digital signal processing chip (DSP) in processing, and when it is reprocessed with a computer through the USB interface, the image can be seen through the display.
